Our Philosophy

State Soccer prides itself as being at cutting edge of coaching practices and currently is the only organisation in South Australia which is an exponent of the Internationally Acclaimed ‘Play Practice’ Approach.

State Soccer schools will provide:

  • A range of soccer training options for all ages, budgets, genders, backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Safe learning environment for its students.
  • First Aider on site at soccer lesson.
  • Coaching staff that will hold current police clearances regarding child–related employment.

Play Practice:

The Games Approach to Teaching and Coaching Sports presents a clear alternative to traditional approaches that will revitalize the experience for the learner. It replaces mindless games and mechanistic training methods with creative and enjoyable practise that improves players’ skills and enhances their tactical understanding.

Developed by Alan Launder, internationally known authority on the subject, Play Practice: The Games Approach to Teaching and Coaching Sports provides both the theoretical basis and the practical plans for changing practice drudgery to an educational experience young people are looking forward to.

Hot weather

If the temperature is 36°C or above at the nearest weather station 1 hour before the scheduled lesson time, the soccer lesson may be replaced with theory lesson or cancelled.

Wet weather

Your lesson should be assumed on unless you have contacted the inclement weather number or website advising you that the lesson has been cancelled.

Note: ALL ABILITIES lessons will not be cancelled in inclement weather. If weather prevents normal soccer lesson activity, low intensity/theory activities will occur in appropriate alternate spaces at the respective venue.

Learning Environment

To ensure a safe and appropriate learning environment for our students, we feel it necessary to keep other children (eg. brother, sister, friends etc.) who would like to ‘play’ away from our designated area and nearby surrounds. This should enhance the learning of the soccer students and also stop any injury to them or their friends.

State Soccer is only responsible for students on arrival to our designated area and up until departure from the same area.

State Soccer staff members may take photographs or video of the classes, which your child is attending, for education, marketing and/or social media use. Please advise State Soccer if you do not want the image of your child/children to be used in a public forum.

Equipment

Boots and shin pads are recommended for Captain Roos and Pro Roos. On slippery conditions we also recommend the use of boots and shin pads for al all age groups.
